Sally Rayner

Co-Chair

Joined the WIMARQ Committee in 2016

Sally is a senior executive with over 20 years’ experience across the resources, infrastructure and energy sectors. She has held global and executive roles at Rio Tinto and Queensland Hydro, leading transformation, operational excellence and multi-billion-dollar projects while strengthening HSEC and ESG performance for long-term value. Known for aligning strategy with execution and fostering inclusive, high-performance cultures, Sally takes a forward-looking approach that balances safety, productivity and business outcomes. Passionate about capability building and DEIB, she has been an active WIMARQ mentor since 2016 and proudly serves as Co-Chair.

Catherine Cook

Joined the WIMARQ Committee in 2022

As Chief Financial Officer, Catherine leads the corporate finance function for Stanwell, a major energy provider in Queensland.

Catherine has many years’ experience across the resources industry and is now at the forefront of supporting the transition to a cleaner energy future.

Catherine has a strong passion for supporting and empowering women to succeed.

Margie Ireland

Committee Secetary

Joined the WIMARQ committee in January 2021.

Margie is a Leadership expert, registered Psychologist, author and professional speaker. Margie has been working with Leaders in the resources sector across the country for over 15 years.

Margie is the founder and author of The Happy Healthy Leader, which is an evidence-based program, that has proven to help Leaders and Leadership teams, achieve high-performance, even during times of stress and change.

More recently, Margie has been presenting her research in the capitals and regions, on gender differences at a leadership level, and how these differences are illuminated during times of stress and change. Margie is passionate about helping senior and executive leadership teams understand what is getting in their way of seeing more women rise to senior and executive positions.

Emelia

Emelia Chalker

Committee’s Marketing and Communications Manager

Joined the WIMARQ Committee in 2018

Emelia is a passionate, talented, and versatile marketing and communications specialist armed with over 15 years’ industry experience within the resource sector. Emelia is results-driven, with the proven ability to ensure that brand messages, standards and communications are both well-understood and effectively implemented. She specialises in all internal and external communications, working closely with stakeholders to implement key marketing strategies to propel the sales strategy and create top of mind brand awareness for the company.

Jasmine Cadd

Partnership Lead

Joined the WIMARQ Committee in 2025

Jasmine is an expert in community development and social investment. She has led BHP’s Qld Community Team, worked in policy roles, and delivered significant international development programs abroad. With over 20 years in international and community development she has global expertise in areas of social impact, co-creation and program design, stakeholder engagement, and community best practice.  She brings this expertise to her newest role as Partnerships and Sponsorships Lead for WiMARQ where she is committed to progressing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging within the sector through the establishment of strategic partnerships and collaborative approaches.

Lyazzat Turlybekova

Lyazzat is a seasoned finance leader with over 15 years’ experience in the mining and resources sector, across operational sites, listed companies, and global finance functions. She has held senior finance positions at Plotlogic, Allkem, and Baralaba Coal, delivering financial strategy, regulatory compliance, and systems transformation across complex, capital-intensive environments. With deep technical expertise in IFRS, US GAAP, and SOX, she has led global audits, M&A readiness, and capital management across multiple jurisdictions for the mining and resource sector. A strong advocate for gender equity in the sector, she is a new member with Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ), where she supports the advancement of women through leadership development and mentoring programs.

Kanae Dyas

DEI Lead

Multiple national award winner and public speaker, Kanae is a leader, pioneering innovative Occupational Health, Wellbeing, Suicide Prevention, DEI and Psychosocial Safety programs.  Kanae is a recipient of the Qld and Australian Women in Mining I&D Champion Award, including the AREEA Australian Health Award for visionary Intersectional and Trauma Informed Psychosocial Safety.  An inclusive strengths-based approach aligned to Human Rights, Trauma Informed Practice and Cultural Safety.

With 35 years global H&S and HR expertise in mining and multiple industries Kanae led the first Mental Health in Mining research program for Rio Tinto in 2014 and co-developed screen Australia’s Workplace Mental Health Framework. Kanae holds several committee roles  for Queensland Resources Council and Minerals Council of Australia in Psychosocial Safety, Respect at Work and Attraction and Retention; driving  innovative industry reform for women and diverse people.

A longstanding WIMARQ mentor, newly appointed WIMARQ DEI Thought Leader member, Kanae actively advocates for intersectional and marginalised voices via actionable strategies to drive equitable reform for gender equity, greater health and safety support for women, and to increase diverse representation  and sustainable career pathways of diverse women in leadership roles.

Rob Jackson

Committee Member

Joined the WIMARQ Committee in 2020

Rob is the Vice President Supply at South32, responsible for commercial, procurement, warehouse operations, and facilities management across nine operations on three continents. He has also held senior leadership roles as Vice President Operations at both Cannington and GEMCO, and previously at BHP in positions including Head of Resource Planning and Development, Marketing Manager, and Business Development Manager.

With over 28 years of experience in the resources industry, Rob brings deep expertise across a wide range of commodities and jurisdictions. He is a passionate advocate for safety, wellbeing, inclusion, and diversity, particularly in supporting more women into mining and resources careers.

Kristy Purdon

Joined the WIMARQ Committee in 2015

Kristy has over 15 years of experience across the Bowen basin mining area, working in UG, asset management and open cut sites. She is currently the Social Performance specialist for AngloAmerican in Moranbah. Supporting the mine sites to maintain their social license to operate.

Kristy has organised a variety of WIMARQ events across the Bowen Basin for the last 10 years and was recently appointed into the IWiM Advisory Council this year after being a part of their alliance group for 5 years.

She is very passionate about providing a positive, inclusive environment to network and connect with people and opportunities as well as supporting the local community and businesses through exposure.

Ellie Millar

Ellie is a Marketing, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement professional with five years industry experience in the energy, minerals, construction, health and technology sectors.

Ellie manages Stakeholder Relations at Alpha HPA and is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies and providing strategic community and stakeholder management services for community engagement, media relations, and public affairs.

Passionate about providing positive, inclusive environments to connect with people and opportunities to support local communities, Ellie builds positive relationships with key external and internal stakeholders to enable successful project delivery.

Ashara Moore

Ashara is an engineering professional with multi-national experience within the Resources sector. She has held leadership positions within multiple organisations, fostering high performing teams that balance business objectives to execute safe, efficient and inventive outcomes. An accredited CPEng and RPEQ, she has a technical background in Project and Portfolio Management, Civil Construction, Tailings Dam Asset Integrity and Management, and broadbrush Engineering. Ashara is passionate about innovation in industry, particularly through an ESG lens; alongside her professional career she is an avid research academic developing novel ways to manage mine wastes through chemical engineering . An ardent advocate for STEM and encouraging women in industry, she strives to promote inclusivity and showcase the excellence of the Resources industry through active community service and professional engagements.

Philip Woods

Philip is the Director of Catalyst Strategy, a boutique consultancy specialising in impactful strategy, positive transformation, and pragmatic commercial and leadership guidance. He works with clients across the resources, infrastructure, energy, and technology sectors, drawing on deep global experience, including leadership roles in legal, supply chain, technology, and transformation. A Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Philip brings deep expertise in team and capability development. He is passionate about advancing equity and inclusion and has proudly served as a mentor in the WIMARQ Mentoring Program for several years.

Katarina

Katrina Lee Jones

Katrina Lee Jones is the Policy Director of Skills, Education and Diversity at Queensland Resources Council (QRC) and provides a high-level policy and strategy focus on a wide range of education, skilling and DEI matters which inform the QRC position and its advocacy work to government and other related stakeholders.  Katrina also leads the Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA), Australia’s most successful industry/schools partnership consisting of a network of 100 schools across Queensland. With over 30 years experience in education and industry, Katrina works to ensure the sustainability of a strong and diversified resources sector workforce in Queensland.

Martha

Martha Jimenez

Martha Jimenez is an Environmental Specialist with over eight years of experience in the mining and energy sectors across Latin America and Australia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master of Environmental Management from The University of Queensland.

Currently working as a Compliance Advisor at Santos, Martha has a strong background in environmental compliance, regulatory approvals, mine closure, and stakeholder engagement. She is passionate about streamlining processes through systems thinking and driving sustainable outcomes across complex projects.

Martha is also the founder and Coordinator of the Peruvian Professionals in Mining (PIME) – Australia Branch, an initiative focused on building community, sharing knowledge, and supporting Latin American professionals. As a mentor and active speaker in the industry, she is committed to elevating underrepresented voices.
